My mission is to help my local and dance ​communities find more joy, fun, and ​confidence through exercising creativity, ​(mind,) and movement, (body.)

Driven to provide top-quality resources and ​services, I am delighted to offer well-rounded ​expertise and knowledge in American ​Smooth and Rhythm dancing, ​communication, music, physical fitnesss, ​performance, choreography, and empowered ​mindset training.

Dani Atkins was raised in a family enthusiastic for music, drama, and living room dance parties.

Her formal training in the arts began with piano, ballet, and creative writing, and expanded to music composition, novel and poetry writing, acting, singing, miming, tap, hip hop, and swing dancing in high school.

She fell in love with partner dancing, and when there arose an opportunity to study ballroom dance in New England and to compete with a professional American Smooth champion, she chased it. This opportunity, once pursued, redirected her life for good.

While experiencing swift success as a professional dance competitor, she followed her dance career to Chicago, affording her opportunities to complete her Master Examiner Certification through Arthur Murray Int., acquire a Life Coaching certification, choreograph for television, and coach and perform internationally.

Dance titles include:

  • Arthur Murray West Coast Swing, Hustle, and Club Dance Champion
  • 2013 Arthur Murray Rising Star Smooth Champion
  • 5 time World and National Arthur Murray Open Smooth Finalist
  • Holiday DOR, Northstar DOR, and North Coast Championship Smooth Champion

Now residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she continues to coach and perform ballroom dance across the US, has added to her expertise Pilates and book writing, and is following her passion of boosting mental health through movement and creativity.

I often tell people that I found my soul through dancing,

but I found my body through Pilates.

A low-impact, isometric workout, Pilates has been used by ​dancers, athletes, actors, and Olympians around the world to ​help condition, lengthen, and strengthen their bodies, ensure ​quality, peak performance, and prevent injury.

Obviously, these are benefits anyone could enjoy, so Pilates is ​for every body!

I am currently certified in mat and reformer Pilates, teaching ​the occasional weekend classes in Grand Rapids, and offer ​virtual one-on-one training to anyone not in the immediate area.
